I'm an independent movie fanatic and a huge advocator of vintage clothing. I have an immense passion for visual arts, although I'm not talented in that field. My words are my art, because they are my means of self expression. And that's all art really is, right? Self-expression.
Anyway, I hope to make journalism my career. I want to travel and write and be happy. As cliche as it sounds, I hope to live in New York some day. Like millions of other girls, it'd be nice to become a feature writer for a fashion magazine. But hey, I love writing, and I'd be content writing anywhere. Although, Nylon, a more "edgy" fashion magazine, will always be my first choice. I also plan on visiting every fashion capital, but if that doesn't work out I most definitely want to see Paris. I think the French culture is so rich and beautiful and I'd really love to experience it.
Before I came to this camp I had bright red hair. Cool, right? Sadly, because of Publix's conservative requirements, I had to dye it to a more "natural" color after landing the cashier job last Tuesday. Looks like no more crazy hair colors for a while. ):
I'm currently teaching myself how to play the keyboard, and I've been dabbling a little bit in photography. My boyfriend has also been trying to teach me how to longboard. It's not as easy as it looks! I obviously love writing, and I really enjoy reading. A few of my favorite books are The Bell Jar, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, On the Road, A Clockwork Orange, and The Rules of Attraction. I don't really watch that much TV, but I do own the entire series of Daria, the 90s cartoon spin off of Beavis and Butthead.
So I've probably rambled enough for today. It's really nice meeting everyone and I hope we're all good friends by the end of this week. :D
