Hola!

Wazzup! I'm Crystal, a rising senior at Kennesaw Mountain, and this is my first time doing any type of journalism camp. The last camp I went to was about...five years ago and it was a christian camp called Camp Wow, so I guess everyone can surmise that I'm not the most seasoned camp goer. But you know how some people are gifted at trigonometry and calculating numbers while others are blessed with "the voice" like Christina Auguilera. For me, I have to say that my little niche is creative writing. I prefer writing on human interest pieces or any kind of topic that I find amusing.
I was introduced to UGA's journalism camp by my friend who attended last year and she said it was a blast! She could not stop raving about how much fun it was, how everyone was so nice, and the feature writing class. She knows how I want to pursue journalism after high school so that is why she highly recommended me to this program and I'm so glad she did! I just started my own blog and I'm planning on covering an array of topics from fashion to world events. So I didn't know I better class to take than feature writing :)
Besides from writing, I also enjoy reading, working out, hanging with mis amigos, collecting quotes, cutting out pictures from fashion magazines, and volunteering. I love everything Harry Potter (but I promise I'm not obsessed) and even though I like Twilight (Team Jacob all the way) I will easily pick Harry, Ron, and Hermonie over Edward, Bella, and Jacob anyday! But I also love the novels A Thousand Splendid Suns, and The Summer I Turned Pretty, and The Giver.
One day I hope to either become an actress (my other passion) or work at a fashion magazine like Elle, Teen Vogue, or Vogue. I would either like to become a fashion writer or maybe have a creative director role like Joe Zee or even one day become editor and chief like AnnaWintour. Who knows what the future will hold, but I can't wait to found out and see.
