So when I first heard the word deadline in my freshman year journalism class, I squinted my eyes and held my hands over my ears. The idea seemed so stressful!...which it is, but the word is not so scary anymore. WE CAN DO THIS!! The energy of the journalism room reaches its peak and everyone is as their highest level of focusing. It is amazing to see how some people pull through under pressure!
I think that when a deadline comes along everything eventually pulls itself together. Yes, it is a lot more pleasant if you have already turned in numerous drafts and only have a few mechanics to tweak, but everyone needs to learn how to make it through a stressful night. I feel like the $500 worth of candy and cupcakes will help us all push through this event :). Cupcakes help everything!
On that note, everyone come prepared tonight full of caffeine, ponytail holders, sweatbands, and chocolate. It's time to finish this paper! Good luck to all!
