Volunteer Work

I have loved being able to co-write the volunteerism article with Sara! We are a great team.
I chose from the beginning to write about volunteering because that is a topic that I am truly passionate about. I am involved in a service club called Liv2Giv back in Nashville. It is a group of teens that does a different service project each month. One of my favorite projects that we have done was the recovering prostitute project. We invited recovering prostitutes from the organization called Thistle Farms to a Valentines Dinner where they were celebrated and reminded that they are beautiful, pure, and forgiven. It was amazing to see how much the affected from a night of being loved and served.

This article has been great because I have gotten to learn how others volunteer and what they are passionate about. My favorite interview we have done was with Lance White, a rising junior at UGA. He volunteers by keeping and training a seeing-eye dog until it is ready to serve. You could just tell by listening to him that he loved taking care of his precious black lab.
This has been a great experience and I'm excited to see how our article turns out!
